Kin Gajo, dirigé par l’accordéoniste Stan Maris, est un groupe passionnant qui explore les frontières du jazz et du hip-hop instrumental. Avec Tom Peeters à la batterie et Werend Van Den Bossche au saxophone, ce trio est une force dynamique de la scène musicale belge.
En septembre 2023, Kin Gajo a été le Brussels Jazz Alert du mois. Après une première sortie réussie avec leur EP, Āku アーク, sous le label W.E.R.F. Records en octobre 2023, Kin Gajo a franchi une deuxième étape avec l’ajout de « Exit, Gajo ! » sur l’album compilation « Lefto Presents Jazzcats Volume 3 » du label Sdban Ultra en mai 2024.
Avec ces réalisations, Lefto Early Bird place Kin Gajo au premier plan de la scène jazz belge florissante, révélant un creuset de talents musicaux émergeant de l’un des plus petits pays.
En juillet 2024, Kin Gajo a remporté le prix « Jong Jazztalent Gent ». Grâce à ce prix, le groupe enregistrera son premier album complet, qu’il présentera au Gent Jazz 2025.

Kin Gajo is het project van accordeonist Stan Maris, saxofonist Werend Van Den Bossche en drummer Tom Peeters. Me leden uit Sonic Hug, Dishwasher_, Kreis en het Elias D’hooghe trio brengt de band een fusie van instrumentale hiphop met hun eigen jazzachtergrond. Ze spelen dub- en bas-heavy nummers en experimenteren in hun ongewone formatie.
In september 2023 werd Kin Gajo geselecteerd voor Brussels Jazz Alert. Een maand later verscheen hun debuut-EP “Āku アーク” op het Belgische jazzpodium WERF Records.
In 2024 maakten ze deel uit van “Lefto Presents Jazz Cats Vol 3”, een selectie van Lefto Early Bird uit de bloeiende Belgische jazzscene. Het werd uitgebracht op het Belgische groove-geobsedeerde Sdban Records label. Ze speelden op het Brussels Jazz Weekend en presenteerden hun muziek.
Kin Gajo won ook het “Jong Jazztalent Gent 2024”. Met deze prijs zal de band hun eerste volledige album opnemen en spelen op het hoofdpodium van Gent Jazz Festival 2025.

Kin Gajo is the project of accordionist Stan Maris with saxophonist Werend Van Den Bossche and drummer Tom Peeters. With members from Sonic Hug, Dishwasher_, Kreis and Elias D’hooghe trio, the band combines instrumental hiphop with their own jazz background. Playing dub and bass-heavy tracks, experimenting in their unusual formation.

They were part of "Lefto Presents Jazz Cats Vol 3" in 2024, a selection by Lefto Early Bird from the flourishing Belgian jazz scene. It was released on the Belgian groove obsessed Sdban Records label. Playing at the Brussels Jazz Weekend they presented their music.
Kin Gajo also won the "Young Jazztalent Ghent 2024". With this award prize, the band will record their first full album, and play on the main stage of Gent Jazz Festival 2025.
