SK Taký je podtitul hry NEPOLEPŠENÝ SVÄTEC z pera Ľubomíra Feldeka. SLOVENSKÉ NÁRODNÉ DIVADLO ponúkne v Bruseli príbeh katolíckeho disidenta Silvestra Krčméryho, ktorého ani najbrutálnejšími metódami vtedajšej ŠtB neprinútili k „polepšeniu“, popretiu viery a súhlasu s mocenskými princípmi vládnutia komunistickej diktatúry.
EN With the play by Ľubomír Feldek, the series in the Blue Salon continues to present staged portraits of major figures in our history. "Irredeemable Saint" or "Yours Is the Power, Ours is the Truth" tells the story of one of Slovakia’s major figures ; though less publicly known who less publicly known, he is yet the more significant : the Roman Catholic dissident and physician Silvester Krčméry.
The narrative focuses on the moral legacy of his time in prison when no one had been able to break him, not even when using the harshest methods used by state police state police. His living faith helped him to overcome what is by now virtually unbelievable methods of torture that to make him a better citizen hence to deny his faith and consent to the power of the Communist dictatorship.
Nonetheless, Silvester Krčméry never became the desired "better citizen". Instead he had shown utmost strength, withstood all tests, and refuted all court decisions that would have released him from prison, for he never considered himself guilty.
The play evolves along several timelines – in the 1990s in his clinic where he is called on by former investigator ; in the 1950s in different places where he is interrogated and imprisoned. The inevitability of repentance and the elevating power of forgiveness serve as all but pathetic yet deep theme that has lost none of its currency.
