Les motifs des rouleaux de papiers peints qui décorent les intérieurs sont autant de marqueurs du temps qui passe, et touchent à notre Histoire sociale et esthétique.
Chorégraphe, danseuse, performeuse, vidéaste, nourrie d’architecture et de surréalisme, Astero Styliani Lamprinou s’inspire d’imprimés datant du baroque aux seventies, en passant par les Années folles ou les années 1950, pour proposer une traversée du temps comme autant de mutations, comme autant de lés d’un papier peint qui change, s’accumule, se fragmente.
Au croisement de la danse et de la performance, WALLPAPER part du vide pour aller vers des pleins qui changent de textures, de couleurs, au gré des époques. Métaphore d’une société en constante évolution.

Motieven in beweging
De motieven op de behangrollen die interieurs sieren, zijn stuk voor stuk tekenen van het verstrijken van de tijd en raken aan onze sociale en esthetische geschiedenis.
Als choreografe, danseres, performancekunstenaar en videokunstenaar, gevoed door architectuur en surrealisme, laat Astero Styliani Lamprinou zich inspireren door prints uit de barok tot de jaren zeventig, via de Roerige Jaren en de jaren vijftig, om een reis door de tijd voor te stellen als een aaneenschakeling van veranderingen, als banen behang die veranderen, zich opstapelen en uiteenvallen.
Op het snijvlak van dans en performance vertrekt WALLPAPER vanuit de leegte naar volheden die van textuur en kleur veranderen, al naargelang de tijdperken. Een metafoor voor een samenleving in voortdurende evolutie.

A choreographer, dancer, performance artist and video artist, nourished by architecture and surrealism, Astero Styliani Lamprinou draws inspiration from prints dating from the Baroque period to the 1970s, via the Roaring Twenties and the 1950s, to offer a journey through time as a series of transformations, like strips of wallpaper that change, accumulate and fragment.
At the crossroads of dance and performance, WALLPAPER begins with emptiness and moves towards fullness, shifting in texture and colour with the passing of the ages. A metaphor for a society in constant flux.
