Découvert par le public lors d’un concours de piano organisé par le Festival de jazz de Montreux en 2008, Gregory Privat a depuis su se créer une réputation de taille sur la scène française.
Après son album "Family Tree" paru sur le prestigieux label ACT, le pianiste et chanteur confirme sa grande sensibilité en dépeignant un subtil hommage à la culture afro-antillaise dans "Soley", sorti sur son propre label Buddham Jazz en trio avec Chris Jennings et Tilo Bertholo.
"Phoenix" s’inscrit dans ce prolongement, Prix Django Reinhardt 2024 (France) en bonus !
Gregory Privat werd in 2008 door het publiek ontdekt tijdens een pianowedstrijd georganiseerd door het Montreux Jazz Festival en heeft sindsdien een aanzienlijke reputatie opgebouwd in de Franse scene.
Na zijn album ‘Family Tree’, uitgebracht op het prestigieuze ACT label, bevestigt de pianist en zanger zijn grote gevoeligheid door een subtiel eerbetoon te brengen aan de Afro-Caribische cultuur in ‘Soley’, uitgebracht op zijn eigen Buddham Jazz label in een trio met Chris Jennings en Tilo Bertholo.
“Phoenix” volgt hierop, met de Django Reinhardt Award 2024 (Frankrijk) als bonus !
Discovered by the public at a piano competition organised by the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2008, Gregory Privat has since built up a considerable reputation on the French scene.
