New CD "Songwriter"
FR En janvier 2015, le River Jazz Festival accueillait son 1er CD aux commandes du LG Jazz Collective. Pour l’ouverture des concerts club de la saison, Guillaume Vierset vient présenter un tout nouveau projet en quintet « Harvest Group ».
C’est son goût prononcé pour la musique des grands songwriters tels que Nick Drake, Bob Dylan ou encore Elliott Smith qui a inspiré le jeune guitariste dans l’écriture de ce nouvel opus à travers lequel il exprime une nouvelle facette de sa personnalité musicale.
Après l’énergie et les envolées fougueuses du jazz moderne dont il est friand, Guillaume livre ici une écriture plus intimiste, douce et fragile empreinte de la nostalgie et la mélancolie propres à la musique de ces « songwriters ».
NL In januari 2015 verwelkomde River Jazz Festival zijn 1ste cd, onder leiding van het LG Jazz Collective. Voor het eerste clubconcert van het seizoen presenteert Guillaume Vierset een gloednieuw project met zijn kwintet Harvest Group.
Deze jonge gitarist liet zich leiden door zijn bewondering voor grote songwriters zoals Nick Drake, Bob Dylan en Elliott Smith bij het schrijven van dit nieuwe opus waarin hij een nieuw facet van zijn muzikale persoonlijkheid aan bod laat komen.
Guillaume laat de onstuimige energie en geestdrift van de moderne jazz even achter zich en kiest hier voor meer intimistische, zachtere en fragielere composities, doordrongen van de nostalgie en de melancholie eigen aan de muziek van deze songwriters.
EN In January 2015, Guillaume Vierset presented his first album with the LG Jazz Collective at the River Jazz Festival. He returns for the first club concert of the season with his brand new project, the quintet “Harvest Group”.
Vierset’s love of the great songwriters, such as Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, or even Elliott Smith, has inspired him in the creation of this new body of work, where the young guitarist shows a new side of his musical personality. After the energy and the soaring delights of modern jazz that he is known to be partial to, his new work, more intimate, fragile and tender, bears the hallmarks of the nostalgia and melancholy of his favourite songwriters.
