Depuis plus de vingt ans, il est le patron du jazz vocal sur le plan international. Il a su construire un répertoire singulier et exigeant. Qu’il chante, qu’il scatte, qu’il susurre, qu’il s’époumone, David Linx trouve toujours le ton juste, le tempo parfait.
Une rencontre sensationnelle, un véritable coup de foudre sur la scène de Radio France lui donne l’envie impérieuse de construire un nouveau répertoire avec le pianiste surdoué Grégory Privat.
Originaire de la Martinique, il a d’abord appris le piano classique avant de se tourner vers le jazz et les musiques improvisées avec une attention pour les musiques afro-caribéennes. En 2022, il sort un album de piano solo "Yonn" unanimement acclamé.
Le duo présente l’album « Be My Guest : The Duos Project », un album de duos avec des invités talentueux, connus et reconnus dans les quatre coins du monde : Tigran Hamasyan, Or Solomon, Hamilton De Holanda, Trevor Baldwin, Nguyên Lê… Narration, poésie, chansons, musique… Des dialogues entre David qui résonnent comme des déclarations d’amours, d’amitiés et parfois de challenges.
“Ce projet est venu à moi très naturellement tel un inventaire qui se réclame, un peu comme si je retournais à l’école. Il est un hommage à la transmission, à l’esprit de curiosité indissociable et indispensable à cet apprentissage par soi-même.

Al meer dan twintig jaar is hij de internationale leider van de vocale jazz. Hij heeft een bijzonder en veeleisend repertoire opgebouwd. Of hij nu zingt, scat, fluistert of gewoon blubbert, David Linx vindt altijd de juiste toon en het perfecte tempo.
Een sensationele ontmoeting, liefde op het eerste gezicht op het Radio France podium, gaf hem de drang om een nieuw repertoire op te bouwen met de begaafde pianist Grégory Privat.
Hij komt oorspronkelijk uit Martinique en leerde eerst klassieke piano voordat hij zich ging richten op jazz en geïmproviseerde muziek, met een bijzondere focus op Afro-Caribische muziek. In 2022 bracht hij zijn solo piano album Yonn uit, dat unaniem werd toegejuicht.
Het duo presenteert het album "Wees mijn gast : het Duo-project, een album met duetten met getalenteerde gasten van over de hele wereld : Tigran Hamasyan, Or Solomon, Hamilton De Holanda, Trevor Baldwin, Nguyên Lê... Vertelling, poëzie, liedjes, muziek... dialogen tussen David die klinken als liefdesverklaringen, vriendschap en soms uitdagingen.

For over twenty years, he has been the international leader of vocal jazz. He has built up a singular and demanding repertoire. Whether he’s singing, scatting, whispering, or just blubbering, David Linx always finds the right tone and the perfect tempo.
A sensational encounter, love at first sight on the Radio France stage, gave him the urge to build a new repertoire with the gifted pianist Grégory Privat.
