S’il y a une date qu’il ne faut pas manquer durant le festival, c’est bien celle-ci, tant la River Jazz Night se présente comme le fil rouge de cette quinzaine : une soirée unique durant laquelle un·e musicien·ne, sélectionné·e avec soin, nous offre trois projets différents le même soir, dans chacun des lieux partenaires du Festival. Aussi, seul·e un·e artiste dôté d’une grande pluralité musicale peut se permettre d’endosser ce rôle. Pour cette nouvelle édition, nous avons fait appel à une pianiste solaire bien connue de la scène belge, une artiste tout terrain : la talentueuse Margaux Vranken.
L’artiste sillonnera Saint-Josse, Etterbeek et Ixelles lors de la River Jazz Night. Une soirée inédite qui débutera avec un duo intimiste à la Jazz Station pour poursuivre avec un quartet et un quatuor à cordes au Senghor et se clôturera par un sextet aux allures funk et disco au Marni. Une occasion rare de (re)découvrir l’univers de la pianiste à travers des performances inédites, imprégnées de ses collaborations musicales.

En om deze avond af te sluiten, is het tijd om te feesten.
Margaux Vranken verandert in ceremoniemeesteres (zang, keyboards, arrangementen) voor een spetterend eerbetoon aan het beste van funk en disco, altijd met een vleugje improvisatie. De uitnodiging is gedaan : we zien u graag op de dansvloer !
Als er één datum is die je tijdens het festival niet mag missen, dan is het wel deze, want de River Jazz Night is de rode draad van deze twee weken : een unieke avond waarop een zorgvuldig geselecteerde muzikant drie verschillende projecten op dezelfde avond presenteert, in elk van de partnerlocaties van het festival. Alleen een artiest met een grote muzikale veelzijdigheid kan deze rol op zich nemen. Voor deze nieuwe editie hebben we een beroep gedaan op een zonnige pianiste die goed bekend is in de Belgische scene, een artieste die van alle markten thuis is : de getalenteerde Margaux Vranken.
De artieste zal tijdens de River Jazz Night door Sint-Joost, Etterbeek en Elsene toeren. Een unieke avond die begint met een intiem duo in de Jazz Station, gevolgd door een kwartet en een strijkkwartet in Senghor en afgesloten wordt met een sextet met funk- en discoklanken in Marni. Een zeldzame kans om het universum van de pianiste te (her)ontdekken door middel van unieke optredens, doordrenkt van haar muzikale samenwerkingen.

Margaux Vranken takes on the role of master of ceremonies (vocals, keyboards, arrangements) for a vibrant tribute to the best of funk and disco, always with a touch of improvisation. The invitation has been sent : we’ll see you on the dance floor !
If there is one date not to be missed during the festival, it is this one, as River Jazz Night is the common thread running through these two weeks : a unique evening during which a carefully selected musician presents three different projects on the same night, at each of the festival’s partner venues. Only an artist with great musical versatility can take on this role. For this new edition, we have called on a sunny pianist well known on the Belgian scene, an all-round artist : the talented Margaux Vranken.
The artist will travel through Saint-Josse, Etterbeek and Ixelles during River Jazz Night. This unique evening will begin with an intimate duo at the Jazz Station, followed by a quartet and a string quartet at the Senghor, and will conclude with a funk and disco-style sextet at the Marni. This is a rare opportunity to (re)discover the pianist’s world through unique performances, imbued with her musical collaborations.
