L’Aleph Quintet réunit cinq musiciens aux parcours riches et variés, installés à Bruxelles, autour d’un projet musical à la croisée des cultures. Leur musique tisse un lien subtil entre rythmes hypnotiques, harmonies modernes et traditions nord-africaines, dans une quête constante d’authenticité.
Après le succès de leur premier album Shapes of Silence, salué par la critique et récompensé à de nombreuses reprises (Jazz Magazine, JazzNews, Le Soir…), le groupe confirme son identité avec Hiwar (« dialogue » en arabe). Ce nouvel opus explore la rencontre des héritages et des sensibilités à travers une fusion audacieuse entre jazz contemporain et musiques traditionnelles.
Présent sur la scène internationale (Europe, Moyen-Orient, Afrique du Nord), l’Aleph Quintet propose un concert intense et habité, où chaque musicien contribue à un dialogue vivant entre cultures, époques et émotions — une invitation au voyage, au cœur du festival.

Deze vijf muzikanten, elk met een heel eigen achtergrond, creëren muziek die een reis is, waarin hypnotiserende ritmes, moderne harmonieën en een zoektocht naar authenticiteit samenkomen. Hun kunst draait om verbinding : tussen culturen, tijdperken en emoties. Na het succes van hun debuutalbum *Shapes of Silence*, dat door critici alom werd geprezen, verlegt het Aleph Quintet met dit nieuwe project de grenzen van hun kunst. De vijf in Brussel gevestigde muzikanten, die inmiddels erkend en gevolgd worden in de internationale muziekscene, keren terug met Hiwar, een album dat hun muzikale signatuur benadrukt : een gedurfde fusie van moderne jazz en traditionele Noord-Afrikaanse muziek. In het Arabisch betekent Hiwar “dialoog”, een woord dat de geest van dit opus perfect weergeeft : een uitwisseling die culturen, erfgoed en innovaties viert. Dialoog is in wezen een wederzijdse zoektocht naar begrip en authenticiteit. Door de open uitdrukking van gedachten, overtuigingen en emoties wordt Hiwar een ruimte waar identiteiten elkaar weerspiegelen en van elkaar leren.

Aleph Quintet heeft talrijke prijzen gewonnen, waaronder “Beste Buitenlandse Band” van JazzNews “Choc” en ‘Revelation’ van Jazz Magazine, “4 sterren” van Le Soir, “Beste Belgische Jazzalbum” van Jazz à Liège, de “French Musical Press Award”, evenals de “Silver Tanit” op de Journées Musicales de Carthage. Daarnaast heeft de groep door de jaren heen in vele landen opgetreden : België, Frankrijk, Spanje, Duitsland, Tunesië, Jordanië, Engeland, Schotland, Bulgarije...
These five musicians, each with diverse backgrounds, create a music of passage, where hypnotic rhythms, modern harmonies, and a quest for authenticity converge. Their art is one of connection : between cultures, eras, and emotions. Following the success of their debut album, Shapes of Silence, which was widely acclaimed by critics, Aleph Quintet pushes the boundaries of their art with this new project. The five Brussels-based musicians, now recognized and followed on the international music scene, return with Hiwar, an album that highlights their musical signature : a bold fusion of modern jazz and traditional North African music. In Arabic, Hiwar means "dialogue", a word that perfectly captures the spirit of this opus : an exchange celebrating cultures, heritages, and innovations. Dialogue is by essence a mutual search for understanding and authenticity. Through the open expression of thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, Hiwar becomes a space where identities reflect and learn from one another.

Aleph Quintet has received numerous awards, including "Best Foreign Band" by JazzNews "Choc" and “Revelation” by Jazz Magazine, “4 stars” by Le Soir, “Best Belgian Jazz Album” by Jazz à Liège, the “French Musical Press Award”, as well as the “Silver Tanit” at the Journées Musicales de Carthage.
