FR Une voix chaleureuse, funky, mais tout aussi sobre et intime. La musique de Bai Kamara Jr. est un mélange d’influences soul, funk, R & B et jazz. Bai Kamara Jr, né en Sierra Leone, grandi au Royaume-Uni, est un chanteur-compositeur bruxellois engagé qui révèle ses origines africaines dans sa musique. Il a partagé la scène avec des artistes internationaux comme Habib Koité, Cassandra Wilson, Rokia Traoré, Keziah Jones.Son engagement pour des ONG a abouti à une collaboration avec la star mondiale Youssou N’Dour. Il présentera son nouveau projet qui sortira au printemps avec un sextet enrichi d’une section de cuivres, de quoi oublier les températures hivernales. 

NL De warme en funky stem van Bai Kamara Jr. klinkt tegelijk heel sober en intimistisch. Zijn muziek is een mix van soul, funk, r&b en jazzmuziek. De in Sierra Leone geboren Bai Kamara Jr. groeide op in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Vandaag woont hij in Brussel en profileert hij zich als een geëngageerde zanger-componist van wie de Afrikaanse wortels diep in zijn muziek doordringen. Hij deelde het podium met internationale sterren zoals Habib Koité, Cassandra Wilson, Rokia Traoré en Keziah Jones. Zijn betrokkenheid bij de werking van ngo’s mondde zelfs uit in een samenwerking met wereldster Youssou N’Dour. Tijdens het festival presenteert hij het nieuwe project waarmee hij deze lente uitpakt : een door een kopersectie begeleid sextet dat ons de wintertemperaturen terstond zal doen vergeten.

Hailing originally from Sierra Leone, Bai Kamara Jr. grew up in the UK and is now based in Brussels. He is a committed singer-songwriter whose African roots are revealed through his music. He has shared the stage with international artists like Habib Koité, Cassandra Wilson, Rokia Traoré, and Keziah Jones. His charity work led to a collaboration with the global star Youssou N’Dour. He will be presenting his new project, due to be released in the spring, with a sextet and brass section : guaranteed to melt your winter blues away.
