"Introducing"
Ce jeune guitariste belge de 18 ans a commencé à jouer de la guitare dès l’âge de 6 ans. Plongé d’abord dans l’univers musical du rock, il s’est très vite passionné pour le jazz. Il s’est formé auprès de Peter Hertmans et Bert Cools.
Alors qu’il n’avait que 16 ans, il a eu la grande chance de jammer avec Wynton Marsalis lors d’une tournée en Belgique. Celui-ci l’ayant repéré, il l’a ensuite invité à venir jouer au Dizzy’s Club de New York, pour une session virtuelle (Covid oblige !).
Par la suite, Eliott a été invité à jouer avec le Brussels Jazz orchestra pour une session live. On le retrouve à l’ouverture du festival Django Folllies 2022 et encore sur la grande scène de BOZAR pour un concert présentant ses propres compositions.
Son jeu musical est enrichi des influences de nombreux musiciens qu’il écoute et apprécie particulièrement comme Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jesse Van Ruller, Brad Mehldau, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis …
En janvier 2021, Eliott a enregistré son premier album avec Olivier Collette (piano), Sam Gerstmans (contrebasse), Daniel Jonckers (batterie) et pour quelques morceaux, Stéphane Guillaume (sax tenor, soprano & flute) et Peter Hertmans (guitare)
Deze 18-jarige Belgische gitarist begon op 6-jarige leeftijd gitaar te spelen. Aanvankelijk ondergedompeld in de muzikale wereld van de rock, ontwikkelde hij al snel een passie voor jazz. Hij trainde bij Peter Hertmans en Bert Cools.
Toen hij pas 16 jaar oud was, had hij het grote geluk om met Wynton Marsalis te jammen tijdens een tournee in België. Marsalis zag hem en nodigde hem uit om in Dizzy’s Club in New York te komen spelen voor een virtuele sessie (Covid verplicht zich !).
Nadien werd Eliott uitgenodigd om met het Brussels Jazz Orchestra te spelen voor een live sessie. We vinden hem bij de opening van het Django Folllies 2022 festival. Nu is hij terug op het grote podium van BOZAR voor een concert met zijn eigen composities.
Zijn spel wordt verrijkt door de invloeden van vele musici naar wie hij luistert en die hij waardeert, zoals Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jesse Van Ruller, Brad Mehldau, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis…
In januari 2021 nam Eliott zijn eerste album op met Olivier Collette (piano), Sam Gerstmans (contrabas), Daniel Jonckers (drums) en voor een paar nummers, Stéphane Guillaume (tenorsax, sopraan & fluit) en Peter Hertmans (gitaar).
This 18 year old Belgian guitarist started playing guitar at the age of 6. Initially immersed in the musical world of rock, he quickly developed a passion for jazz. He trained with Peter Hertmans and Bert Cools.
When he was only 16 years old, he had the great fortune to jam with Wynton Marsalis during a tour in Belgium. Marsalis spotted him and invited him to play at Dizzy’s Club in New York for a virtual session (Covid obliges !).
Afterwards, Eliott was invited to play with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra for a live session. We find him at the opening of the Django Folllies 2022 festival and then on the big stage of BOZAR for a concert featuring his own compositions.
His playing is enriched by the influences of many musicians he listens to and appreciates such as Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jesse Van Ruller, Brad Mehldau, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis…
