"Warm" est une performance chorégraphique et scénographique sur l’interdépendance humaine et le pouvoir curateur du mouvement. Un questionnement par le corps et l’objet sur la chaleur vécue, partagée ou fantasmée, ou comment interroger cette notion au sein même du théâtre.

A partir des gestes des premiers secours, gestes accessibles à tous et pourtant souvent méconnus, ce projet soulève la question de la « juste » distance émotionnelle face à la détresse de l’autre. S’appuyant sur les directives enseignées par la Croix Rouge préconisant le « sang-froid », un état permettant l’agir efficace sans oublier pour autant l’empathie, le respect et l’écoute de la victime. Un état idéal, une sorte de canon de « l’être au monde » vers lequel tendre, plus ou moins évident selon les circonstances et les sensibilités de chacun...

‘Warm’ is een choreografische en scenografische performance over de wederzijdse afhankelijkheid van de mens en de genezende kracht van de beweging.
Centraal staat het ter discussie stellen door het lichaam en het object van de ervaren warmte, gedeeld of gefantaseerd. Kortom, hoe dit begrip aan de tand voelen binnen het theater zelf ?
Via eenvoudige en voor iedereen toegankelijke eerste hulphandelingen die vaak slecht gekend zijn, verkent dit project de vraag naar de ‘juiste’ emotionele afstand ten overstaan van het lijden van de andere. Uitgangspunt zijn de door het Rode Kruis voorgestane richtlijnen die ‘koelbloedigheid’ voorschrijven, een toestand die toelaat doeltreffend te handelen zonder evenwel de empathie, het respect en ook het luisteren naar het slachtoffer te vergeten. Een ideale toestand, een soort canon van het ’de wereld zijn’ waarnaar we dienen te streven en die min of meer evident is naargelang de omstandigheden en de gevoeligheden van eenieder...

“Warm” is a choreographic stage performance on human interdependence and the curative power of movement.
The body and the subject question the warmth experienced, shared or imagined, or how to interrogate this notion within theatre.
Using first aid movements, movements that are accessible to everyone and yet are often not well known, this project raises the question of the “right” emotional distance when confronted with another person’s distress. Based on instructions from the Red Cross that advocate staying calm, a state allowing people to act efficiently while showing empathy and respect and listening to the victim. An ideal state, striving towards a kind of canon of “being-in-the-world”, more or less obvious depending on each person’s circumstances and sensibilities...
